Hi Vikas, Vamshi
As such, these Phillips shavers really lasts a very long time. The design is such, it does not require replacement of the blades. There is no other expenditure really.

On some model, it is possible to clean even the blades, while on other models, you require special tools to do so and it is done at their service station.

Unfortunately, the blades are not standardised across their model and as a result you cannot swap parts if you have other models.

If the battery is built in, this would be a factor for it to break down early.
You can consider PQ202 Phillips shaver
It is light, small and has a removable batteries. The motor has a good tork. You can use a rechargeable battery. It is very easy to clean it up and I had got for Rs. 1,111 on Snapdeal. The price may be different now.

The placement of the battery is non conventional. It is a matter of getting used to.

I would recommend this model.

This does not have a trimmer. Actually, it is not necessary to have a trimmer. I find the electric shavers takes less time to shave compared to the traditional rasors.

For how long do the blades of an electric shaver last? What procedure to
remove the blades if required?

Hi
I have been using electric shaver for at least 30 years. It has not made any
adverse effect on my skin at all or made the beard denser.

I have used a few of them and found Phillips ones better than the rest. I
have been shaving alternative days and the pattern has stayed for many years
this way.

You get them in 2 head and 3 head. It does not matter at all. Similarly, you
get direct drive that is it runs direct from power source and others run
from rechargeable batteries or disposal batteries. All of these combinations
run fine.

I last bought a Phillips shaver a year back. It runs on battery and does not come with charger. It is a twin head one and I got it from Snapdeal for Rs.
1,111. There was some offer running then and its list price was around
1,900. The battery arrangement was non standard and I was almost going to
return it and checked the battery position on the manual. Other than that I
did not find it difficult at all. In fact this model is small in size,
Easier to clean it up. I don't have the model number readily now.

Even if you were to shave weekly, you can still do so on the electric shaver
as well.

The electrical shaver are rugged and requires no maintaince except the
cleaning up. This too, we can do it ourselves.

Let me add, I do use the conventional rasors occasionally. Therefore, both the conventional rasor and the electric shaver are safe to use and it is only a
matter of preference.

Harish.

I heard that electric shavers slowly damage and darken your skin
considerably, for how long you people have been using them?

Hi,

I second that. I've had a similar experience with Philips Norelco electric
shaver.

Best,

Absolutely. I started using an electric shaver about 4 years ago and
find is much easier to use rather than a traditional razor. I use a
Philips AquaTouch shaver. It is a wet and dry shaver but I only really
ever do a dry shave. It has a rechargeable battery which lasts for
about 10 shaves. Also easy to clean. Just put it under a running tap
to clean it.

There is an advantage for dry shave. It is much easier to check if you
have missed any stubble and use the shaver again.

Hope this helps.

Kiran

Subject: [AI] Electric shaver for men

Hi friends,
Apologies if this subject is off topic.
One of my friends was suggesting that an electric shaver would be more
convenient for a V I man to shave his beard than the conventional way
of shaving with a razor and blade.
So I was wondering if anyone could throw more light on this.
Could some of you suggest a good electric shaver for a dry and wet
shave which does a good smooth job?
Which is a good brand with good features? Name of the model etc.
What features should we look out for in a good electric shaver?
All your suggestions are highly appreciated, Warm regards, Rishi.
