Hi
After filling both the source and destination field, you need to hit the enter
key and not merely tab to the next field.
It will also display the station code eg. panvel (PNVL)
Once the station code gets displayed, you can be very sure it has accepted it,
if there is any error, you need to delete it entirely.
This should solve this problem.

Subject: [AI] Case against IRCTC on accessibility of online railway ticket
booking on 26th Feb 15

Dear All,

Post filing of this case which is pending before the CCPD for quite some time
now, IRCTC has made some crucial changes on its website to improve its
accessibility for visually impaired users. Our friend and the original
applicant Mr. Bhawani Shankar Verma has updated today that IRCTC has now
introduced 6 digits OTP being sent to user's mobile and the user has to type it
on the desired field.

Though the visual Captcha still exist, but, there is a checkbox where a user
can opt for either captcha or OTP.

The date field also made accessible now and the users can type the date on
DD-MM-YYYY format.

However, still the "from and to" station field is not accessible. After typing
the station name, the list of stations appears, is not accessible with jaws or
other screen readers. many graphics and buttons are not leveled with
appropriate text.

We would request you to please share your recent experiences of using the IRCTC
website and let us know if there are still accessibility issues being faced by
users with visual disabilities.

The matter comes up for final hearing before the CCPD on 26th Feb 2015 and
issues could still be addressed. The IRCTC & CRIS have been very cooperative
in this entire effort of making their new website accessible ever since this
was brought to their knowledge through this court case.

Please send you final comments by night of 25th Feb 2015.
