Dear friends, Agaami is updating the categories for the award nominations to address the concern a friend expressed recently. Agaami (www.agaami.org) is pleased to inform you that we are accepting nominations for Agaami Braille Memorial Awards - 2015 in the following categories: Award categories: - Award for Outstanding Social Work by Visually Impaired - Award for Outstanding Academic Performance by Visually Impaired - Award for Outstanding in Technology by Visually Impaired - Award for Young Visually Impaired Achiever - Award for Lifetime Achievement by Visually Impaired - Award for Excellence in Uplifting the Visually Impaired- for sighted applicants/nominations Eligibility: - These awards are strictly for partially or completely visually impaired persons. - Nominee should be minimum of 14 years of age. - Nominee should be visually impaired (partially or completely blind). - Nominee can be an Indian/Foreign National. - Nominee can self-nominate himself/herself or be nominated by any other person. - Nominee must possess a disability ID card or Medical certificate attesting blindness. How to send your nomination: - Send in your nomination to Agaami at agaami....@gmail.com with the following details: o Name, Address, Phone Number o Category of Award Applied for o Describe your work relevant to the category (in 500 words or less) o Details of your achievements (if any) o Why do you think you deserve this award? (in 300 words or less) o Your latest photograph o Disability ID card or Medical certificate attesting blindness. - Please note all nominations shall only be accepted via email. No paper nominations shall be accepted. Award details: - If you are shortlisted as a recipient of the award, we will contact you. - Agaami (an initiative by Pattraco) reserves the right to verify the data submitted by you, for correct selection of awardees. - The nominations are open till March 15th, 2015 only. - The award shall comprise of a Certificate of recognition, a trophy and a humble cash prize for the recipient to continue good work. The decision by the panel shall be final and irrevocable. You cannot apply for more than one category. You can apply in english. The last date for applying is 15th march. The award recipients will be informed about the ceremony if selected post the submission period.
