Nice artical that provide current status of accessibility of academic institutions in Mumbai. Same is the situation In Pune We are trying to make course carriculam accessible, university web services accessibility compliant and Built environment barrier free. But it is getting very difficult to convince academic administraters. They all never say no for accessibility implementation. Their enthusiasm is very high at the time of our presentation. But latter on they never tern to take any action despite law. How long we should take their humble follow up. I feel very sorry that despite a part of the academic system, i could not yet do any change in my university. It is the court order. But who cares HC? I think there should be huge penelty for non compliance. Then only we can get accessible environment. Or we all should plan agitation to make academic system accessible for persons with disabilities.
