Staff Reporter 2 The book to shortly hit social media forums A snapshot of the audio book ‘Vaikhari.’ A snapshot of the audio book ‘Vaikhari.’ In a creative attempt to draw the attention of youngsters to the world of Malayalam literature, the students of the Madappally Government Vocational Higher Secondary School have come out with a new audio book, Vaikhari , which will shortly hit all the social media platforms for gifting a new learning experience. Teachers and students, who worked behind the idea, say the audio magazine will feature all the important classical works in Malayalam, especially poems. Weekly updates Lessons targeting students in Class X across the State, too, will be included in ‘Vaikhari,’ which will be updated every week. Coordinators of the project say the lessons in the audio book will be highly helpful for the visually challenged students in Kerala. All these lessons are recorded in the voice of the students. The lessons which are now in audio format will be first uploaded on the Youtube to make it available for all learners in Kerala. Plans are also there to post it in Facebook, Twitter, and all other new media platforms to change the initiative to the level of an infotainment. To avoid Copy Right Act violations, works those do not come under the act will be initially considered for uploading. The first book comprises five well-known stories in Malayalam. According to programme coordinators, the audio book is the effort of a 15-member team including students and teachers under the headship of the National Service Scheme unit.
