Role model

• Sir - A Chennai girl, N.L. Beno Zephine, has done the nation proud
by being the first fully visually-challenged woman to crack the Union
Public Service Commission examination.

Although she is visually challenged, she had a clear vision of her
goal in life. As the former president, A.P.J Abdul Kalam, had said,
"Small aim is a crime". In spite of her limitations, which would have
deterred an ordinary person, she had a dogged determination and this
helped her realize her dreams. She has proved to the world what Walt
Disney used to say: "All our dreams can come true if we have the
courage to pursue them." Her success story will inspire many young,
differently-abled aspirants of the UPSC.

Yours faithfully,

T.S. Karthik, Chenna
