Lots of good questions there. I'll try to answer best as I can:
q. You mention, it placed in front of the ear. Could not picture it allright.
Meaning, is it kept over the ear? Then, how does it become bone conduction
then? Can you please elaborate this technology in depth?
Ans: The speakers (or transjuicers as they are called) are placed on the cheek
bone in front of the ear and not on the ear. You can picture it like wearing
spectacles backwards on your head so, the arms will protrude in front of your
ear instead of behind.
There may be other models from other manufacturers that go behind the ear like
regular spectacles, but I am not aware of such a product. The google glasses
used to have bone conduction headphones built in that went behind the ear like
regular spectacles.

q. Is the audio quality rich like a normal headphone?
Ans: The audio quality is pretty good. But since the ears are not covered and
this doesn't block ambient noise, you cannot compare it to something used for
music listening.

q. I fine it very tiring and uncomfortable using any headphone to listen over
an hour. I suppose, such fatigue may not happen in these type of headphone?
Ans: I still experience fatigue with these headphones. Although I can listen to
these for longer than the regular headphones, but the fatigues is still present.

q. In this list, I know of some members who are having failing vision and who
are also having problems with their hearing. Would such headphones help them
especially reduce strain on their ear drums?
Ans: These headphones bypass the ear drums altogether and use the cheekbone for
transmitting the sound. So, yes these reduce the strain on ear drums. If the
failing hearing is because of problems in the middle or inner ear though, then
it is the same as regular headphones. Doctors recommend these for people with
problems in ear drums.

 q. Can it be camoflaged, especially for those who would not like to reveal
their hearing problems to the world?
Ans: If anything, these are more visible since people are not used to seeing
something sitting on your cheeks instead of the ears.

q. Are there any shortcommings to these types of headphones that you are aware
of and any thing that one should be aware of before opting for it?
Ans: The sound leakage is higher than regular headphones in these. As in a
person sitting next to you is able to hear more of the sound output from these
headphones than with regular headsets.

q. In what price range bone conduction headphones are available?
Ans: The bluez2 were $100 when I bought them - are now about $80.

Manish

Hi Manish
I have read about the bone conduction headphones, however, never experienced it
first hand.
You mention, it placed in front of the ear. Could not picture it allright.
