I'm thinking about the system(software, service, maybe autoresponders*?*,etc.,) that can interact with the user. Let's say something like to take an order or maybe to fill forms when you open an account say on AltaVista or elsewhere. In form of question-answer with programmable options-answers. I think something like autoresponders but not sure since never used one.It should be free or not expensive ,preferably by email means but all other options and opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance. You can search the LISTSERV site by interest <http://www.lsoft.com/lists/list_q.html>, by host name <http://www.lsoft.com/lists/list_s.html>, by host country http://www.lsoft.com/lists/list_c.html>, by lists with more than 10,000 subscribers http://www.lsoft.com/scripts/wl.exe?XS=10000>, by lists with more than 1,000 subscribers <http://www.lsoft.com/scripts/wl.exe?XS=1000>, and by sites in alphabetical order <http://www.lsoft.com/lists/site_a.html> -- Gerry Boyd -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 Jan 1999 09:42:24 -0800 From: "Gerald E. If you have a Unix shell account (or your own server running Linux), know Perl, then the answer is yes. You can do this with a program called Procmail. This occured one or two > times in 1998 and the only solution for some of the users was to > unsubscribe and then re-subscribe. > I don't know but one possible scenario is that there was some problem with the address that resulted in messages bouncing for a period long enough for listserv to automatically delete the address as a bad address. With 2700 addresses subscribed I imagine the list owner (or whoever gets the error-messages from listserv) can't check every address. Listserv automatically deletes subscription after an address delivers a number of errors How quickly this happens depends on how the list is set up. In some cases the problem with a particular address can be short-lived but the listserv has no way of knowing whether the problem is temporary or permanent and it is usually the latter.
