Since the crash, Reference.com seems to be slow in coming
back. As Gerry reported, one can now establish an account again.
However, when the queries are stored, they are not active.

Keep monitoring this list. When Reference.com comes back,
you will hear it here first, I bet. :)

Unfortunately, the way most SPAM is inserted, you will not be able to
positively ID the source. The best that can be guaranteed, is that you
can most likely ID the insertion point (first SMTP server). If you could
get the SPAM source to attempt to use an SMTP server on your system as
the insertion point, then you have a chance at ID-ing the source system,
and the ISP at that end can ID the user. This is basically what the ISPs
have to do with complaints.

On the other hand, they often use valid "Return-Path:" headers, used to
make a list of bouncing addresses, to remove from their list. Faking
SMTP bounce messages can, in some cases, get you off of the list.

Subject: Where have all the Web.it(s) gone?

Greetings all you kind, helpful, ACCMAILERS.
Grovel, grovel, crawl, crawl.

Can any one of you kind people tell me where, preferably but
not exclusively, in the United Kingdom, I can get hold of one
of the new Web.it PCs with built-in Commodore 64 emulation
(220/240v version) ?

I e-mailed the manufacturers, Web Computers International of
the Netherlands for information. They replied to the effect
that they hoped to have it available in the U.S. within the
next 8 weeks.

Obviously they got the US and UK mixed-up in the translation.
A subsequent e-mail to them has not elicited any further response.

Even if I was prepared to import one into the UK from the US it
would, presumably, be a 110v version which is not a lot of use
here. Unless, of course, the PSU is adjustable between the two.

If anyone out there can help, I would be most appreciative of a
reply, either to these pages or by personal e-mail to:-
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks y'all.

There IS a utility for doing this, I think it normally part of a decoder
archive. Most current decoders will handle multiple or single file
multi-part UU.

I like UU from UU41S.ZIP available off of simtel, as well as other
places, as a FAST DOS-only decoder. I also use UUDEVIEW, as a multi-mode
decoder that works with 98% of what I toss at it, though it is slow.

I know it is possible to 'get' files with a ftpmail server. But Is it
possible to 'put' files by using a ftpmail server? Or any other E-mail
based tool?

Basically I want to use this to avoid a firewall. The firewall doesn't
allow me to do FTP. So I'm not able to setup my home page...

You have an incorrect or misspelled domain name. Whois search fails on
"horter.com.cu"

Dear Steve Harris,

Can you please, mark your time list, with information if that
address responds to a search as well as a get, or find command?

A one off will do for me. It would cut my frustration, of
recieving a failed notice!!smile!

This page uses a POST method. I would suggest you use a Getweb server
or ww4mail with the "get" command to retrieve this page. Fill it out,
and then forward back to getweb and see what happens.

If you are trying to do a search, this might work:
send http://209.185.64.50/?request=enter&portal=bulldog\
&dosearch=dosearch&keywords=frog+dissection&by=topic&x=68&y=8

Nope... The only site that allows this, is the Simtel site for
uploading shareware. Then only after you have approval to do it and
they set up an upload area for you.

Fitst off, I don't know much about UUCP.

Netscape has this to say about setting up UUCP gateways:
You can use the Mail routing table in Mail Server to define mail
routing for networks other
than TCP/IP, such as UUCP and FIDONET. You will find the mail
routing table on the
SMTP form. You can set up the mail routing table with entries like
this:
     SMTP-Mail-Routing-Table: [*.uucp:uucp.gateway.host]
[*.fidonet:fidonet.gateway.host]
With this set-up, any mail addressed to will be sent off to
uucp.gateway.host for delivery
by that machine, and similarly for .

I gather though from your second statement, this has already been done.

Everything else I found is about an ISP that will sell a UUCP
connection or LAN setups using a UUCP account. I didn't find any
gateways for access.
