No, you're right - the script is absolutely minimal.

I don't need these features at the moment, but I am aware of a likely need
in future to support the clients that don't know how to let you edit
headers directly into a message like the ones on phones (it's quite a
natural thing to do on Unixlikes and in powerful Windows mailers that will
give you the ability to identify yourself as whoever you want). The
problem is that I can't think of a clean, healthy way to do it. There is
quite simply no better way than the present one of adding headers that are
understood everywhere and have no impact on other mail users - every other
method is either convenient only to mail users exclusively posting to
Usenet or likely to cause problems of one sort or another, which guarantee
problems for seemless mail-to-news. For instance, using newsgroup-
specific addresses will give us problems with crossposting and won't
support other headers beside Newsgroups; and using headers in the body is
a nuisance when mail users read your post when crossposted to both news
and mailing lists as well as introducing a vast array of parsing problems
even though it's easy to do at the sender's end.

I'll let you know what conclusion, if any, I come to about this. Right
now, though, I need news to mail and back again for my existing email
clients, and this script fits the bill very nicely (and, what's more, is
very fast).

Cheers,
Sabahattin
