www4mail provides support for submission of form data in two mode

1. THROUGH A WEB BROWSER (Recommended method)

In this mode you can enter your data and your selections
on a web page, the data is automatically submitted to
www4mail server.
Here you have use the Submit button provided by the Web Page
and not the www4mail "Get Selected Document(s)" button.
Most submit buttons are labeled Submit or Search or Get it.

2. TEXT (E-MAIL only) MODE
In this mode all interation is by e-mail. Your initial
request for the URL, should have the XFORMREPLY = TEXT entry. See help xformreply

Example
XFORMREPLY = TEXT
http://www.yahoo.com

The above example generates the reply shown at the bottom of
this document

The reply is in 3 separate parts:

 * A TEMPLATE SECTION
 * TEXT DUMP OF THE URL (showing locations of Form variables)
 * A KEY explaining the various FORM variables.

In order to use this effectively, it is necessary to 1. check the location of the variable in the TEXT DUMP section.
        (in the example, the variable named p is to be filled
        in with the user data, notice it appears just before
        the ________________________ ).

2. Cut the particular form template to a new e-mail page

3. Filling the data against the variable
4. Send the template back to www4mail

Example
X---- START FORM 1 ----X

XFORM=FORM ACTION http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search METHOD GET
XBASE = http://www.yahoo.com/
XFORMREPLY = TEXT
p=frog+dissertion
Search=on
XSUBMIT_NOW = on
XFORM= /FORM
X---- CUT HERE FOR FORM 1 ----X

end

Sending the above to the www4mail server will cause a search for frog+dissertion on the search.yahoo.com and the results will
again be returned as text.

3. NOTES ON SUBMITTING MULTI-LINE DATA
For submitting multi-line data, you may use the following
table to get different behaviour from the www4mail server.

{( First line
second line
third line
...
last line )}

Your data will be submitted to the WEB server as one
line with each line separated by %20 (a single space).

{ First line
second line
third line
....
last line }

Your data will be submitted to the WEB server as one
line without any gap between the lines.

[ First line
second line
third line
....
last line ]

Your data will be submitted to the WEB server as one
line with each line separated by %0D0A (the Enter or Return key).

( First line
second line
third line
.....
last line )

Your data will be submitted to the WEB server as one
line with each line separated by a single space.
Note that the www4mail gateway may remove this space
later.

In all above examples note that spaces in the middle of lines
are preserved.

If you are using the TEXT mode then make sure that the {, ( or [ or {(
comes after the = sign on the same line.
If you use a web browser then make sure that the first character of your
entry is the {, ( , [ or {( sign(s).
