I'll try to carve out time this and next week to get first-hand knowledge about what works and what doesn't with Websphere 5, Spring 1.2 and Acegi 0.8.3. I had been going mostly on forum posts and my interpretations of the docs, but your reference to Juergen's email are making me wonder...
