------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2006-08-16 09:58 -------
hello

ok i had a look in the dokumentation/power/video.txt und booted with the
kernel-option
"acpi_sleep=s3_bios" with the latest stable kernel, 2.6.17.8
.
when i booted in the recovery-mode ("single"-option)
i (sometimes!) succeeded to resume with suspend-to-ram (S3) and to start gdm.
but the
network didn't worked. I often got bad block errors after fsck checkup.

when i booted wihout the recovery-mode my computer, after wakeup from
suspend-to-ram my
computer ALWASY hanged on resume. afterwards fsck gave a lot of bad block
errors out.

suspend-to-disk (S4) seems to work, but without networking und working
mouse-pointer:
even when i reload ehci_hcd , ohci_hcd and usbhid, the mouse-pointer is alwasy
frozen.

by the way, what means that error-message?
[17179582.116000] ACPI Error (evgpe-0688): No handler or method for GPE[ 0],
disabling
event [20060127]

help is very appreciated!
regards, milos

i'm talking about suspend to RAM and suspend to disk,

Fn-F4 (hotkey for suspend on/off on ibm laptops) didn't show any reaction, so i
had to
hold the power-button for some seconds. the computer didn't wake up, it booted
as if it
was turned off before.
