My case (Toshiba A105-S2716, see post above): 1. acpi=force does not do anything
2. When I first remove (rmmod) the module snd-hda-intel and then shutdown everything goes the way it should be. Conclusion: At least in my case, the culprit is the * snd-hda-intel * module.
