Summary: ACPI on Abit AB8 Pro motherboard with bios revision 19
is broken
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
KernelVersion: 2.6.22.1 SMP compiled for Core 2
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: BIOS
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Distribution: Debian unstable
Hardware Environment: Abit AB8 bios revision 19, Intel Core 2 Duo
Problem Description:
After updating the motherboard bios to revision 19 to fix POST issues, the
kernel does not boot with acpi enabled anymore.
Unfortunately I didn't write up the bios revision before update, but it was
atleast 14 acording the changelog:
http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/en/download/download_bios_detail.php?pFILE_TYPE=Bios&pMAIN_TYPE=Motherboard&pTITLE_ON_SCREEN=AB9+Pro&pSOCKET_TYPE=LGA775
During bootup I get "IRQ 19 nobody cared" error (will doublecheck later in the
evening) and bootup freezes after detecting USB devices, so I have to manualy
write up the error message.
The machine boots up without problems with acpi=off, but then SATA hotplug
won't work.
I have also tried debian stock kernels 2.6.21-2-486 and 2.6.8-2 with same
results.
I will attach acpidump output.
Steps to reproduce: Boot with ACPI enabled
