No, never tried it. I simply booted with init=/bin/bash, suspended with "echo
mem > ...", and then the laptop did no reboot. 

But I will try asap s2ram. Let me just find it... google points me to
suspend.sf.net, which point me to a page with a date of 12 nov 2006. Trying to
download the ususped package now, not sure if that's what you meant...
