I experiment the almost same problem than Brice Goglin.

With 2.6.22 (vanilla + disk-protect patch), with or without thinkpad-acpi
modules loaded, after a random amount of time, my ThinkPad R51 (2888 CTO)'s
keyboard, touchpad and trackpoint freeze, and Gnome's sensors applet says it
cannot read neiter ACPI nor ThinkPad-ACPI sensors anymore. If I am typing a
letter when it happens, this letter is then repeated as if I was keeping it
pressed.

In the kernel messages, I see nothing abnormal before the hangup. When it
happens, and after, I just lines (arround one quartet of lines per minute) of :
