------- Comment #21 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-08-08 01:47 ------- More background: In this particular case ports are intentionally configured in BIOS settings to use ttyS0: port 0x3f8, IRQ 4 ttyS1: port 0x2f8, IRQ 3 ttyS2: port 0x3e8, IRQ 10 ttyS3: port 0x2e8, IRQ 11 in order to be able to use all the serial ports at the same time. Sharing IRQs on serial ports has never worked for us with our hardware. Actually this BIOS does not allow to configure ttyS2 with different I/O port but same IRQ than e.g. ttyS0 (same for ttyS3).
