As Volker said: this is clearly not restricted to my thinkpad model ;-)
Also (might be related, might not), my power button doesn't seem to generate
ACPI events: /proc/acpi/button/power/PWRF/info reads "type: Power Button (FF)"
and the lid and AC seems to generate events, but natch on PWRF.
