------- Comment #16 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-10-08 19:11 ------- I can confirm this same problem on an Aspire 5050-4697, my dmesg and acpidump are virtually the same, and indeed building without processor, ac and battery gets the system to boot. I had to add noapic and nolapic additionally to the kernel command line to be alble to use the RTL-8931 ethernet NIC, I guess due to IRQs? PCMCIA supported WiFi NICs don't work either (PCMCIA seems to be disabled when using the other arguments).
