Anyway, 2.6.22.6 with your workaround patch, and booted with apic=debug initcall_debug seems to work very well. As you can see in my /proc/interrupts, usb now shares irq 17 with eth0, so it's hard to "test" if my issue is solved, but now it won't be a problem, I guess. Please tell me if you'd need anything else.
