Summary: Evo N620c Laptop brightness support missing
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
KernelVersion: 2.6.23.1
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: high
Priority: P1
Component: Config-Other
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: don't know?
Distribution: Fedora 7
Hardware Environment: Compaq Evo N620c (Laptop)
Software Environment: KDE Desktop
Problem Description: After unplugging the A/C from the Laptop, Display
Brightness turns to 50% and is hardly readable. There seems no way to turn it
on again. Likely because it isn't supported by acpi? This happens also with the
most recent Fedora 7 update kernel 2.6.23.1-10.fc7. There is no way to
configure it through BIOS.
Steps to reproduce:
$ for i in /proc/acpi/video/*/*/brightness; do cat $i;done
