OK, thanks for your help.  I will do some more sniffing on the Windows side for
battery/AC power info. 

FWIW I did the above steps with 0x04 instead of 0x0f and no difference,
plugging and unplugging AC and battery causes no ACPI activity.  So I think you
are right that battery is not an ACPI function.
