The patch does _not_ fix my hardware x86_64 (amd64 Acer Aspire 1524 notebook):

And let me add that this is a real regression - not only cosmetic - since the
messages prevent the HD from switching off. Possibly other drawbacks as well.
I'll read up on this whole bug-page and return with requested info etc.
