Summary: ACPI Error [...] AE_NOT_FOUND -> Cpu frequency scaling not working on C2D T7500 Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 KernelVersion: 2.6.23.11 vanilla Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: BIOS AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Most recent kernel where this bug did not occur: Distribution: Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 64bit Hardware Environment: HP Pavillon dv2699el (dv2500 series) laptop Software Environment: latest gutsy 64bit packages Problem Description: cpu frequency scaling not working, seems not recognized at all for CPU. Maybe the culprit is the Phoenix Bios (using latest version F.21 available), as it seems that it only allows MS Vista to manage ACPI functions (on Vista all working well). When modprobing acpi-cpufreq or speedstep-centrino or any other frequency scaling module I get this error: FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.23.11-vanilla/kernel/arch/x86_64/kernel/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device No frequency scaling support seems to be available for cpu.
