Yes, you want to enable that, as your system has an IOAPIC:

ACPI: APIC 7FEAFF0A, 005A (r1 INTEL  ALVISO    6040000 LOHR       5F)

(While IOAPIC mode is the proper way to run this hardware,
 I don't expect it to have an effect on the problem at hand.)

So please boot up into single user mode and...

grep acpi /proc/interrupts
cat /proc/acpi/event &

# press the power button to see an event come out
# you can also use the sleep button, if you have one,
# or plug/unplug the AC/DC adapter

grep acpi /proc/interrupts

# and now try the lid button to see it provokes events
# and if the LCD backlight comes back even after you wait,
# then type "reboot" to the blank screen...
