------- Comment #11 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-04-16 08:46 ------- The R50e is a *very* different beast than the *61... If you want, we can easily determine whether it does brightness control through the GPU (and, therefore, something the X.org server could be interacting with), or through the EC. To save the brightness setting on a R50e, you must make sure all brightness setting is done by the BIOS or through ACPI. When using thinkpad-acpi, it must be using brightness_mode=3 (which IS the default on a R50e, as far as I know). Anyway, I doubt your R50e problems have the same root cause as the *61 problems. In order to avoid mixing what is probably two different issues, you might want to open a new bug report IF you have reasons to believe it is a kernel issue. But I would really appreciate if you post your problem to the linux-thinkpad mailinglist first, and talk to other R50e users (I am also on that list and will monitor the thread). If it ends up as being a kernel issue, we open a new bug here. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
