Summary: lockup in sbshc.c in wait_transaction_complete Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 KernelVersion: 2.6.25 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Power-Battery AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest working kernel version: 2.6.23 Earliest failing kernel version: 2.6.24 Distribution: Gentoo Hardware Environment: notebook Acer TravelMate 4502WLMi, Pentium M 1.6GHz, ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, two monitors (panel+LCD) Software Environment: N/A Problem Description: Reading of /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state ends in an endless loop. The first symptom was that the hald didn't want to finish startup and I figured out that the problem is in reading the battery status. I patched (attached) sbs.c and sbshc.c to report method entry/return and also locking and I found that the execution ends in wait_transaction_complete (sbshc.c) in an endless wait_event_timeout - really strange. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
