I applied the patch from comment #5 to a 2.6.24.7 kernel and suspend/resume now
works correctly on that machine. /proc/acpi/wakeup is identical to what it used
to be after a clean boot as described in the initial report.

Regarding the patch from comment #7: it did not apply to either a clean
2.6.24.7 or 2.6.25.4 tree. I could probably apply it by hand, but would this be
of any help considering that the patch from comment #5 alone seems to fix the
issue already ?
