------- Comment #6 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-07-19 01:43 ------- Zhang, As far as I know the sz61 has 2 bios versions, one for winXP one for Vista. In the XP version the DSDT exposes the 2 methods uset to set and get the brightness (SBRT and GBRT). Unfortunately some extra magic seems to be required as calling those doesn't produce the expected behaviour. If some willingful user can trace what else is required I'll be happy to implement it in sony-laptop. (BTW: all my efforts at tracing acpi and ioport calls in windows regularly resulted in the os dying so I can't really advise on hoe to do it) For the Vista version there are no such methods. honestly, if there was a standars compliant way of changing the brightness on vaios i'd definitely go for that. -- mattia -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ acpi-bugzilla mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
