oh, to perform the test in commetn #81 using 2.6.27,
you'll need to disable the DMI workaround.
you can do that by commenting out this call in
acpi_processor_init():
dmi_check_system(processor_idle_dmi_table);
or otherwise disabling set_no_mwait() from running on your system.
