Hi ykzhao,

Thanks for the patience and helping out. I tried appending acpi=off and noapic
to the kernel boot line. Basically, the booting process then stops after the
following lines (written down somewhere and then I lost the paper...):

io scheduler noop registered
io scheduler deadline registered
io scheduler cfq registered (default)

So, as indicated in comment #32 the kernel won't boot without acpi. Maybe I
should try this again with a new kernel with acpi not enabled? But I guess that
would give the same result.

Anyway, is there something specific you would like me to look for when booting
with acpi=off, before the booting process stops/hangs? I can't send you a full
log, but I'm willing to write down what I can see.
