Since kernel 2.6.27.5 the EC starts in interrupt mode automaticly. I'm testing some of the changes Alexey Starikovskiy mentioned. I've changed ACPI_EC_UDELAY to 500 and add some udelay() calls in acpi_ec_transaction_unlocked().
