Looking at the ACPI dump, GPE 1d seems to be a simple "SMI event" trigger to
let the OS know that the low-level firmware has noticed something happening. If
you want to diagnose this any further, then following the instructions in
http://www.lesswatts.org/projects/acpi/overridingDSDT.php and printing the
contents of Local0 after the Store(SMI(blah statements in NEVT and SMIE.
