--- Comment #46 from Robert Hancock <hancock...@gmail.com> 2009-12-07 01:08:20 --- Hmm, interesting. So apparently something is triggering the BIOS to swap out the working MSFT DSDT with the horribly wrong INTL version. And apparently this doesn't happen on Windows 7. One thing is that if you're using 2.6.31 it appears that kernel version didn't report Windows 2009 (i.e. Windows 7) compatibility. Mike, would you be able to test 2.6.32, which does, and see if the behavior changes (without extra patches)? It's possible that if the BIOS detects Windows 7 that it doesn't swap out the DSDT. It goes without saying that whatever BIOS engineer at Toshiba thought that swapping out the DSDT at runtime was a good idea needs some serious re-education. I can't imagine any OS reacting well to this (especially since the one it swaps in seems totally busted). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Join us December 9, 2009 for the Red Hat Virtual Experience, a free event focused on virtualization and cloud computing.
