URL: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/513921 Summary: keys for adjusting display brightness don't work as expected on ASUS 1005p netbook Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Power-Video AssignedTo: acpi_power-vi...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org ReportedBy: bugzilla.kernel....@rolf.leggewie.biz Regression: No Looks like I have found another bug related to the N450-based ASUS 1005p netbook. The hotkey combination for increasing and decreasing display brightness does not seem to work correctly. As written in https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/513921 the display brightness does not increases monotonically. Not sure if the root cause of this is the kernel bug that apparently the ACPI events are not translated to input events (see comment 4). acpi_listen told me the corresponding events were "hotkey ATKD 0000002d 0000000c" for the hotkey to lower screen brightness and "hotkey ATKD 0000002e 0000000c" for increasing it.
