dmesg - boot 2.6.33 with no_sleep_until_running patch (id=26124)

It works :)

The screen brightness is the only thing I've found that's not completely
working, but even that is much improved.  It now fades from dim to bright in 0%
- 50%, and 50%+ is ignored, but this is not a problem for me.


Are you able to tell anything useful from the dmesg output?
Does it give you any clues as to why the standard kernel doesn't boot with
ACPI?
