well, this seems like an unknown regression in 2.6.35-rc4.
please check if this patch can be applied to your old kernel or not.

Maybe I built incorrectly. Chances are high, as this was my first kernel build.

The kernel provided at https://launchpad.net/~kernel-ppa/+archive/ppa/+packages
(2.6.35-7-generic #11-lucid1-ubuntu) installs and seems to run well.

Is there just a module that I can copy over that contains battery.o or is
battery.o built into the kernel?

Otherwise, should I take the ubuntu sources and patch that? I will probably
error the same as the first time.
