--- Comment #17 from Chris <c.ammer...@gmail.com> 2010-11-03 12:28:45 --- Created an attachment (id=36002) --> (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=36002) dmesg, plug & unplug AC, screen not dimming I can confirm that this was all done during the same boot. As to your latest instructions: here's what i did: 1. Unplug AC: no dimming 2. dmesg -c 3. Plug AC 4. Unplug AC: no dimming 5. dmesg > dmesg_nodim_plug_unplug.log This sequence generates three [BAT0] events (I would expect two, but oh well). The sequence of Integers is: [BAT0] event 1: 1, 1, 40 [BAT0] event 2: 1, 1, 2 [BAT0] event 3: 1, 0, 40 Now on to where the screen is actually dimming as it should: 1. Unplug AC: dimming 2. dmesg -c 3. Plug AC: brightens 4. Unplug AC: dimming The sequence of Integers in this case is: [BAT0] event 1: 1, 1, 2 [BAT0] event 2: 1, 1, 40 [BAT0] event 3: 1, 0, 2 I never noticed anything going wrong with plugging in the AC: it always causes the screen to un-dim (become brighter) as it should. So the bug is only happening when AC is unplugged. dmesg output attached. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Achieve Improved Network Security with IP and DNS Reputation.
