dmesg, plug & unplug AC, screen not dimming

I can confirm that this was all done during the same boot.

As to your latest instructions: here's what i did:

1. Unplug AC: no dimming
2. dmesg -c
3. Plug AC
4. Unplug AC: no dimming
5. dmesg > dmesg_nodim_plug_unplug.log

This sequence generates three [BAT0] events (I would expect two, but oh well).
The sequence of Integers is:

[BAT0] event 1: 1, 1, 40
[BAT0] event 2: 1, 1, 2
[BAT0] event 3: 1, 0, 40

Now on to where the screen is actually dimming as it should:

1. Unplug AC: dimming
2. dmesg -c
3. Plug AC: brightens
4. Unplug AC: dimming

The sequence of Integers in this case is:

[BAT0] event 1: 1, 1, 2
[BAT0] event 2: 1, 1, 40
[BAT0] event 3: 1, 0, 2

I never noticed anything going wrong with plugging in the AC: it always causes
the screen to un-dim (become brighter) as it should. So the bug is only
happening when AC is unplugged.

dmesg output attached.
