Yes, when the patch in comment #9 is added on top of the pach
in comment #8, the interrupt storm goes away totally.

/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe1B:       0   disabled
/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe1C:       0   invalid
/sys/firmware/acpi/interrupts/gpe1D:       0   disabled

marking bug as RESOLVED, as there is a working patch available.
