I think these parts (for each core) are related to my problem:

[ 3182.190588] Booting Node 0 Processor 2 APIC 0x2
[ 3182.201596] [Firmware Bug]: cpu 2, try to use APIC500 (LVT offset 0) for
vector 0x400, but the register is already in use for vector 0xf9 on another cpu
[ 3182.201598] perf: IBS APIC setup failed on cpu #2
[ 3182.203686] Switch to broadcast mode on CPU2
[ 3182.203837] CPU2 is up

Some internet search showed that it has to do with these Gigabyte motherboards
but none of the fixes worked for me. Changing clocksource to hpet or adding
acpi_skip_timer_override parameter at boot did not work (supposedly these
worked for some boards to solve the problem)
