Bug ID: 200997
Summary: Suspend stops disk but immediately reawakens on first
try. On subsequent suspends, remains asleep
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 4.17.0
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Power-Sleep-Wake
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Regression: No
After boot up and log-in, suspend proceeds through shutting off disk drive, and
then immediately reawakens. This is on an amd64 system with Gigabyte 970A-D3P
motherboard. The problem was bisected down to patch
commit 18996f2db9186cbabe3a7e7085bfb80408b32755
Author: Erik Schmauss <[email protected]>
Date: Wed Mar 14 16:12:57 2018 -0700
ACPICA: Events: Stop unconditionally clearing ACPI IRQs during
suspend/resume
This was not fixed in later kernels through 4.18.4.I'm using the Gentoo distro,
but the bisecting was done with the git kernel. It should be said that after
the first attempt to suspend, subsequent attempts work correctly. The problem
always appears after a (re)boot.
Best Wishes,
Bob Gleitsmann
