Because the Panel use the DPCD Aux channel to control the PWM of the backlight
module.
You can try the latest i915 backlight patch from Lyude.
It can be patched into v5.5 rc2 kernel
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/series/69914/
maybe you still need to add i915.enable_dpcd_backlight=1 to your grub to force
the i915 work under dpcd backlight control mode.
