Tashkinov from comment #5) > If the OS can do that, it's a devastating DoS/physical attack that can be > carried out even under Windows. I have reported this problem on the Lenovo forum ([link](https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Other-Linux-Discussions/Lenovo-Yoga-Slim-7i-Aura-15ILL9-fans-don-t-turn-on-after-sleep-resume-on-Linux-risk-of-overheating/m-p/5387352)) but they require Windows reproduction. If you believe that even if the EC fan is intended to be controllable by the OS, it should still have a firmware-level protection against completely shutting down the fans, please provide more details on how to demonstrate this vulnerability on Windows to meet their reproduction requirement, so that I can effectively communicate with the Lenovo staff for a firmware-based fix. -- You may reply to this email to add a comment.
