--- Comment #5 from Daniel Demus ([email protected]) --- I actually think this will effect a lot of acp7 ASUS machines in the future, because their windows driver probably doesn't give a damn what is in the ACPI tables, so they are not effected by sloppy BIOS values. The above patch was for a ProArt, but I would think they will reuse the controller for all v7 machines. They probably reuse or template values in the BIOS from model to model. The WA variant used a v6 controller which worked as such, apart from other sloppy configuration values requiring other quirks being added to the kernel. I don't think ASUS is going to fix this, so unless the goal is to make sound unusable on ASUS machines on Linux, this needs to be re-raised, including the these additional points so it is not perfunctorily rejected. -- You may reply to this email to add a comment.
