--- Comment #5 from [email protected] --- Transparency note on how this report was produced (per Documentation/process/generated-content.rst): - The investigation and the text of this report (including the attachments selection) were done by an AI coding assistant (Claude Code, Anthropic) running on my laptop at my request. It was also the assistant that filed this bug through the Bugzilla REST API on my instruction; I should have submitted it myself, sorry about that. "The user" in the description is me. - What the assistant did: read the DSDT and drivers/acpi/ec.c (7.2.y), enabled EC dynamic debug, wrote the test scripts, and derived the explanation in the "Analysis" section. That explanation is its interpretation of the log and code, not something verified on other hardware. - What I did: ran the tests on this machine (with root), pressed the keys, and confirmed that after "echo query > .../ec_event_clearing" the brightness keys react instantly, as they do on Windows. - Not done yet: a vanilla kernel test, suspend/resume with ec_event_clearing=query, and a patch. I'm happy to run any test you suggest and to test a patch -- You may reply to this email to add a comment. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. _______________________________________________ acpi-bugzilla mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
