hi all !!
i need a li'l help...i am too take over someone's application in their absence.
It is an application that lets users to check their acceptance status to a course.
The application runs on test server, the database too.
Why is that they have an FTP on another server Y ???
Wat is the use of Y ?
The DSN is also on Y..
I was told that all i need to do is add a new mdb file..rename it to replace the old
one n the application would work fine..but when i tried doin tha...it doesnt seem to
take the new one...it appears to me that it is checkin on the old database why would
tha be..?? does that have anythin to do with the DSN setting ..the server Y z
maintianed by some other department..wat could be the reason for this??
i also tried adding a new record at te access end...on test server to the old
databse...n it doesnt even seem to take tha...or if i tried updating an existing
student detail..when i run the application it fetched the old detail..but in the
databse the change appears ...why would that happen?? a change at the backend n not at
the dront end...probably it is not readin the databse from the test server..if not
where is it then readin from ???
Does this make sense????
hope someone can help me !
Regards
Geeba
