Oops.  Sorry.  Can't help you with Java syntax.  I thought that, you
being a Java person, maybe you justed needed a pseudo-code explanation
of the ASP version and then you would know how to write it in your
native tongue, Java/JSP.

I'm sure Java/JSP has everything you need.  I just have no experience
with JSP.

Better yet, ASP.NET has an awesome array of tools to handle XML, all
easy to use and very well documented.  ...but that may not be an option
if you're already decided on Java/JSP.
