Did you try the FSO method GetAbsolutePathName() ?

If I hardcode the path it works fine, BUT if I pass the path from a
variable it does not work.

What the heck?  If I do a response.write on the myname variable, it
looks EXACTLY the same as the hard coded string above.

This is driving my BATTY!
