I have seen some A4D examples where some files were suffixed .a4p as opposed to .A4d. The documentation doesn't appear to mention if there is a specific purpose for these files, or is it just a stylistic way to differentiate between file purposes? Was this something that was v1 specific?

This is something that Alexander Heintz started and I adopted. I use .a4p for form processor scripts that have no content but just do something and then redirect to another page.
